So everyday i pretty much make a bunch of things from painting, making shirts, to sewing, to rings, to packaging them up, to my freelance work. and i really love what i do! i have so many ideas sometimes i just can't sleep, i'm sure so many of you creatives are the same way! Anyway, I am starting the new issue of the magazine i work for, and i feel really inspired! I found some of my old favorite magazines from college in my parents bassment, from back when i just remember dreaming of becoming a magazine designer! A collaboration of my work with a fellow designer Brandnu, will be in a Gallery in South Hampton. Please feel free to attend if you are in the UK, I will not be able to travel there this time! I wish i could! Please let me know how it goes!

A friend of mine, Brandnu, has selected a a dozen of collaborators and created a piece of artwork with each person to the chosen music track.

Exhibition will take place at the prestigious Bargate Monument Gallery from 7th May – 15th June 2008. Private view (VIP party) takes place a day earlier 6th May) where anyone could meet all the guys behind the project, music artist involved…the lot. Also, there's a little soiree planned after hours.
To top it all up, He will be giving away the visual mixtapes on the night, a collection of exhibition artworks in one little handy package. The ‚mixtapes‘ will be available to purchase via the main website after the launch.

New Items from AD LOVE

I posted some new items. The first picture is a necklace i made, from this awesome shell place i found in florida! Its this great hand cut shell! and looked great with one of my shirts :)

Next a new turntable DJ longsleeved top, the top is from Alternative Apparel and is so super comfy soft. plus the gold paint is awesome. A lot of people ask me if the paint is okay to wash, and it IS! I made my boyfriend a turntable shirt (this is actually his turntable) that i referenced, and he washed it, dried it. even with fabric softener (which the paint says not to) and it is perfectly fine, no fading at all! Great paint!

The next Top, is a great white raglan top from alternative apparel. I hand painted and splashed and stenciled some flowers in the background creating an awesome watercolor technique like my paintings. and then screenprinted over it. Looks really pretty.

The last top is a Fun top, that i forgot about, i reconstructed it, and weaved a really neat neckline, it was really hard to do, but worth it, i reconstructed the sleeves and its very fun and funky!

I love her shop announcement, and i was reading through all of her descriptions, and she has a fun fact about Octopuses'(is that a word?) , with each different item, and description! You can learn something new when reading about her creations! check it out!

The story of the NIU shooting really hits close to home, since I went there, just a few short years ago, as well as my boyfriend Donnie, My sister Annie, Her husband Chad (NIU Cop 2 years ago), my closest friends, Katie, Casey, Erin, Alyssa, Michael, Alex, Bryan, Keenan, Quinn, Dan, and so many more people to name. Its really hard to believe when this was Your school, that you went to. I can't even imagine, how terrifying, it must be to have been at the campus when this happened. We have all had class in Cole Hall. If Anyone wants to comment, or needs to say or get out anything, feel free to post it here.

I just pray for those students, and faculty who are going through the experience right now. I pray that they can talk to people, and get help to deal with this horrible act. How could you go to school after that? And most of all I pray for the families and friends of the students who have passed on, and who are injured.

Liz Grotyohann has a meticulous attention to detail, a thirst for knowledge, and a love of ephemera that serve her well in the myriad aspects of her creative work. Trained as a Graphic Designer, Liz works 40 plus hours a week as a designer specializing in exhibition and environmental graphics.

When her 9-5 day is done, she gets to work with her hands, shifting the scale of her creative work to personal collages and assemblages. Lately exploring recycling and repurposing household waste, Liz, has created beautiful and functional objects from materials that would most likely be discarded. She is also working on exploring a jewelry line based on her collage art.

Wow. Liz, has got it all, What an amazing craft, and style, and she definetly wears many hats in the creative world.

So my mom got me an "Express It!" Luminary for Christmas from Partylite, and what a cool gift for artists! You just print off your own artwork, and stick it in the middle of two glass cylinders. For Mine, I printed a piece i just created for a client, that I can only use for my portfolio, (and my own home). I actually printed it on Clear Label Sticker Paper, so that it was flush with the inside cylinder, and it has a matte clear finish.

It adds a really nice decoration to your home/apt. meanwhile its your own artwork! very fun.

A Friend of mine who sells some of my jewelry and buttons would like to find someone that handmakes pouches . Right now she packages her jewelry in small japanese zip pouches. Because each item is complimentary with all orders, she would like to spend $1.50 - $2 per Pouch, about 200 pouches needed.

So i hand cut, an illustration out of a woodgrain looking paper.

Scanned, it, changed the hue and made a christmas card or print out of it, for friends and family!
